Telegram and other channels

Most people use Multify in the browser extension. Channels let you reach Multify somewhere else too: by text message from your phone, or through your own Telegram bot.

Where this fits now Channels are optional. Texting Multify (iMessage or SMS) is open to every account. A Telegram bot runs on your own hosted agent, which is part of the paid plan. If you're new, start with the browser extension.

The browser is home

Day to day, you'll chat with Multify in the panel next to the page you're working on, or on the new tab. The same chats are on the web at app.multify.co. There's nothing extra to set up.

Optional channels

When you want Multify on your phone or alongside your team, add a channel:

  • Telegram: a private bot for your hosted agent, on phone, tablet and desktop. Part of the paid plan.
  • Text message: text Multify from the Messages app (iMessage or SMS). Set up texting →

Why Telegram

Telegram works on every device, runs a private bot that doesn't use your personal phone number, and needs no workspace or admin approval. If you'd rather text from Apple Messages, use texting instead.

Telegram and privacy

A few facts worth knowing:

  • Your bot conversations are private between you and the bot. They don't appear in any group or shared channel.
  • Telegram's servers are distributed across multiple jurisdictions.
  • You can use a username instead of sharing your phone number.
  • The Telegram client is open source, so the security community can audit it.

For most professional tasks, like research, drafting, scheduling and analysis, this level of privacy is enough.

Set up Telegram

You need the paid plan. Multify runs the agent on its own servers, so there's nothing to install and no server to log into.

  1. Get Telegram from telegram.org (iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux or web) and sign up.
  2. At app.multify.co, open Agents, choose Add Agent, and follow the Telegram steps: link your Telegram account if asked, then confirm the bot in Telegram.
  3. Wait for the agent to show as ready, usually within a minute.
  4. Open your bot in Telegram and say hello. It replies to confirm it's live.
