Set up Multify in two minutes

Multify is a free extension for the browser you already use. Install it, pin it, sign in, and try a few things on the pages you have open right now.

Install the extension

Multify runs on desktop Chrome and Firefox. Edge and other Chromium browsers install it from the Chrome Web Store too. It's free to install and use.

When the install finishes, a Multify welcome page opens. It walks you through the next two steps.

Keep the Multify new tab

In Chrome, Multify replaces the new tab page with a chat box and a feed of things worth reading. The first time you open a new tab, Chrome asks whether you meant to change it. Choose Keep it (Edge calls it Keep changes).

Chrome asks once. Keep it keeps Multify. Change it back turns the whole extension off.
Don't pick "Change back" In Chrome that button turns off the whole extension, not only the new tab. If you'd rather have your old new tab, keep Multify and switch the new tab off later in Settings. See New tab.

Firefox keeps its own new tab, so you won't see this question there.

Pin it to your toolbar

Click the puzzle piece at the top right of your browser, find Multify, and click the pin. The Multify M now sits next to your address bar, where you can reach it from any page.

The puzzle piece opens your extensions. Click the pin next to Multify. In Firefox it's a gear, then Pin to Toolbar; in Edge, an eye.

Sign in

Click the M and choose Sign in. Use your email (we send you a 6-digit code) or your Google account. You stay signed in on that browser until you sign out, or after 30 days without using it.

Saving works before you sign in. Anything you stash while signed out waits on your computer for up to 7 days and goes into your Stash as soon as you sign in.

Each of these takes under a minute, on pages you already use.

Ask about the page you're on
Open any article, product page or terms of service and press Alt+X (Option+X on a Mac). The Multify panel opens on the right and can read the page as you see it. Ask what you want to know. The Multify panel

Find out who emailed you
Open an email in Gmail and rest your pointer on the sender's address for about two seconds. Multify looks the person up and shows who they are and what they do. Gmail

Write a reply with \\
Click Reply, type two backslashes, and pick Write. Say what you want in a few words. The draft shows up highlighted; press Tab to keep it or Esc to throw it away. Doubleslash

Improve something you wrote
Highlight a paragraph you've typed anywhere, right-click, and choose Multify › Improve this text. Pick Shorter, Friendlier, Firmer or another mode, then insert the result in place. Right-click & Improve

Have Multify do the clicking
On a page with a search box or a form, open the panel and tell Multify what to do. It asks for permission the first time on each site, then types and clicks for you. It always stops and asks before anything that pays, books or sends. Page Agent

Connect the apps you use

Multify gets more useful when it can reach your calendar, docs and CRM. Open the panel menu (☰) and choose Connectors. You'll see Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, Slack, HubSpot and others. Connecting finishes on the Multify website in a new tab, then you're back where you were.

Once an app is connected, you can mention it in chat or in Doubleslash: "check my calendar for Thursday and suggest two times."

If something doesn't work

The panel won't open on this page

Browsers don't let extensions into their own pages (like chrome://settings), the extension stores, or built-in PDF viewers. Switch to a normal website tab and try again.

It says I'm signed out

Click Sign in, finish signing in on the tab that opens, then come back and click I've signed in. Retry.

It says "Can't reach Multify right now"

Your connection dropped or our servers are busy. Click Retry in a moment.
