Right-click & Improve
What's in the menu
What you see depends on what you right-click. When there's more than one Multify choice, they sit together under Multify › near the bottom of the menu. When there's only one, it shows on its own.
On highlighted text
| Menu item | What happens |
|---|---|
| Research this | The panel opens and Multify searches the web for what you highlighted, then sums it up with sources. Good for a name, a company, a product or a claim you want to check. |
| Improve this text | Rewrites the highlight. In a text box you can insert the new version in place. See Improve below. |
| Explain this | A plain explanation of a term, an acronym or a dense paragraph, using the page around it for context. |
| Stash this quote | Saves the page to your stash with the highlighted words as the note. Each quote is its own item, so two quotes from one article are two saves. |
| Send to Multify | Opens the panel with the highlight in the message box under "About this excerpt:", so you can finish the question yourself. |
| Create Task in Multify | Starts a task from the highlight. Check the wording in the message box, then send. |
| Open Multify Chat | Opens the panel on the chat. |
On a link
Stash this saves the linked page to your stash without opening it. Send to Multify, Create Task in Multify and Open Multify Chat work the same way as for text.
On a blank spot of a page
Right-click anywhere that isn't text, a link or an image and choose Stash this on Multify to save the whole page. A small note in the corner says Saved to Stash (or Already in your stash), with an Add note or tags button if you want to add more. See Stash.
On an image
Right-click an image and choose Generate reverse prompt with Multify. See below.
Improve what you wrote
Improve rewrites text you've highlighted. It works in text boxes on most websites (a LinkedIn message, a support ticket, a form) and in Gmail's compose window. You can start it three ways:
- Right-click the highlight and choose Multify › Improve this text.
- Rest your pointer on the highlight for a moment. A small Improve chip appears next to it. Click it.
- Type \\ in a text box on another website and pick Improve (Doubleslash).
The rewrite shows up in a small card next to your text. Nothing in your text box changes until you say so.
- ImproveRewrite the selection
- Insert (Enter or Tab) replaces your highlight with the new version.
- Reject (Esc) leaves your text exactly as it was.
- Try again writes another version.
Pick a direction
Once the first version is ready, a row of options appears under it. Click one and Multify rewrites the same text that way:
| Option | What you get |
|---|---|
| Shorter | The same message in fewer words. |
| Longer | More detail and context. |
| Friendlier | Warmer and more relaxed. |
| Firmer | More direct, for when you need a clear answer. |
| Formal | More formal wording, for a client or anyone you don't know well. |
| Fix only | Grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitals. Nothing else changes. |
| Translate | Into Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, or any language you type under Other…. Multify remembers your last language, so next time it's one click. |
| Summarize | A shorter summary in the same language. |
Text you can't edit
You can also improve text that's part of a page, like a post you're reading or a paragraph you want to quote. Since there's no box to put it back into, the card offers Copy instead of Insert.
If Multify can't open the card on a page, it opens the panel and gives you the rewrite there instead.
Turn an image into a prompt
To get a prompt for an image like one you've found, right-click it and choose Generate reverse prompt with Multify. Multify looks at the image and writes a prompt that describes it. When it's done, you can:
- Copy the prompt to use in another image tool.
- Use prompt to put it in the Multify chat so you can edit it.
- Save as Page to keep it in your Pages.
- Generate image to make a new image from it right away.
Coupon codes at checkout
When you reach a checkout page, a small bar offers Check for a coupon code at the store you're on. Click Find codes and Multify searches the web for current codes, tells you where each one came from and which look most likely to still work. You type the code in yourself.
Click Don't show on this site to stop the bar on that store, or turn it off everywhere with Settings → Spot coupon chances at checkout. To spot a checkout, Multify reads the page's headings, buttons and form labels. It never reads what you type.
